My First Cook Book

While walking through the Baby and Toddler Show Melbourne I come across a pretty little book stand. Here is where I met the author of this lovely little book Food Babies Love. The first thing I thought was my gosh how pretty it was! I started reading through it and was immediately drawn to her book.

Not only is this book good looking but it is packed full of practical basic tips and tricks that honestly I wish I had thought about 12 months ago! Last night and this morning I have read through this book and I have been kicking myself all day about all the small yet practical things you can do to not only make the transition into solids smooth and easy but also how to effectively prepare and clean saving hours of time and energy!

Being a new mum you are forever thinking am I doing this right?  Should I be doing this differently?

This book starts from the very very very start of your journey into solids and guides you right through till 12 months +. There are guides and tips on some of the questions I had myself such as
  • What foods should I start with?
  • What time of day should I start?
  • When should I introduce a new food?
  • Am I going to fast or to slow?
  • I cant tell if my baby is actually ready?
and so on and so on...

But this book is not only for new mums! Oh no if you are looking for new food ideas for your little one I can tell you this book is packed full of everyone's all time family favorites with a baby/toddler friendly twist!

Lily enjoyed her yummy tuna pasta made from the Food Babies Love recipe book. It took just under 20 minutes to prepare and the clean up was fast and easy!

I cant wait to start on the baking baby, finger food and snacks on the go sections! This book has years of use ahead and will be keeping it for baby number 2!

This gorgeous book is only RRP$34.95

Where did the name Lexi and Lily come from?

Well as you may know by now my little angels name is Lily! Lexi (Lexus) is my sisters little baby girl! To the stress and surprise of my parents my sister and I went into labor on the same day at the same time with both our little girls being born on the same day just hours apart. They are both a very big inspiration to my business (as you can tell haha). I never purchase a product for my boutique that I would not get for my two little girls so as you can see a lot of research and thought goes into every product purchase made!

And that's the story of where our name came from

The Beginning

I have started this blog to share my journey into becoming a Mumpreneur! I want to share with you why I choose the products I do and some fun blogs on testing and using our lovely products.

Come along on my adventure with me learning the ins and outs of running my own business while juggling being a 1st time mummy and fiance as well as working full time!

A bit more about me: I laugh a lot and sometimes for much longer then needed, I get hurt easily but hide it well, I forgive very easily and oh I have all the Harry Potter movies on my  cell phone!
